There's a lot going on here. The utilization of the broken cinder block - the iron pot inverted against humidity inducing rust - and I love that potted plant to the side. That palm branch is a lovely frame. Another contrast to the wealth that we in the west so often take for granted. A very fine image, Thomas.

@Stephen Phillips: Thanks for your comment Stephen, and your right, now that I'm in the Netherlands for a few months, I notice all around me that people taking their wealth for granted and still complaining...it's never enough. For me, after three years of living out of my backpack, it's almost impossible to get used to our luxury life again. (ok, except my Macbook) I'll be glad when I can go back next year. Saludos amigo!
Thomas, not only is this a technically great image, it also delivers an ambiance and feeling of being right there. The burnt logs, and blue smoke, and the roof and shelf all give a realism. 5 stars !

@Observing: Thanks for the comment Mike! It's really appreciated.
Een prachtig stilleven Thomas, het is alsof ik zo kan aanschuiven. Heel mooi van kleur en compositie.! Kan me levendig voorstellen dat je dit stukje paradijs mist.
