I am certain that many in your homeland have no idea what feels like to encounter people like this child. A shame that many of the nation-states in which they abide refuse to acknowledge the positive influence their ancestors furnished to the region. Here in Mexico the indigenous population still speaks many dialects and many others still don't even speak Spanish. There is a contradiction here as their is appreciation for the ancient art and fascination with some of their prehispanic practices, but the majority lack access to basic necessities and have little if no access to the political and economic life of the country.
Her face speaks of so much simplicity and innocence. Well captured.

@Luis A. De Jesus R.: You're so right Luis, many people have no idea what it feels like to be in a environment like the Darien with it's lovely people. I understand the contradiction you mentioned. Personally, I think goverments should let them free the way they want to live their culture and keep it natural. In Panama that's actually already happening with the Kuna Yala (San Blas province). Education, especially about healthy food, is very necessary in those areas.
