@Mirko Herzner: Yes, some parts and streets are "no go areas" when it's dark because of robberies, stabbings... These days its possible to rent two armed policeman.

Oh! Lijkt me niet echt een prettig idee, maar zo veilig is het in Nederland volgens mij ook niet op bepaalde plekken en de Thais schieten je ook om niets overhoop. Mooie foto, vooral de warme gele kleuren in combinatie met het paars is schitterend. Je vriend had iets meer scherpte op zijn gezicht mogen hebben, maar misschien wilde hij wel onherkenbaar in beeld ;)

Na wat langer kijken vind ik 't toch wel wat hebben dat alleen zijn gezicht uit of focus is en de rest helemaal scherp! Het hoeft niet altijd volgens de regeltjes he en zo kom je tot unieke foto's!

@Observing: Yep, you were right. Many times I first searched for a location without a camera to get an idea what I wanted, then later coming back with my camera to shoot as fast as possible what I wanted and returning back to my house pretty fast too. Even after living there for 1,5 year and knowing half the neighbourhood, I had to be carefull all the time. Let's say it's challenging... ;-)

Look at the tribal tattoo on that guy. I like your idea of getting street-smart protection for your venture into the night in such a neighborhood. Such a great idea that I am thinking of it myself for some areas of Mexico City I would like to penetrate.
